At the Centre for Newcomers, you will find a full suite of services, including: settlement services, English language training for adults, and support for finding employment. Each year more than 10,000 newcomers, many businesses and organizations connect with the Centre.

A Message from our Premier Rachel Notley on World Refugee Day from CFN Productions 

As part of our Orange Ribbon Campaign and to celebrate the World Refugee Day, we will highlight some of those who arrived in Canada as refugees. 
 
K’Naan is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and rapper who grew up on the streets of Mogadishu, arriving in Canada as a refugee at just 13 years old.
Ricardo Miranda - Alberta's Minister of Culture and Tourism, whose family flew to Canada as refugees from Nicaragua, when he was only 9 years old. 
Adrienne Louise Clarkson is a Hong Kong-born Canadian journalist, politician, and stateswoman who served as Governor General of Canada.
The Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Canadian journalist, and documentarian who was Canada’s 27th governor-general (2005–10) and the first person of African heritage to hold that post.
 
LGBTQ+ New Canadians Resiliency Project.
The Centre for Newcomers is proud to announce we have partnered with Calgary Outlink to offer a directly targeted settlement and peer support services specifically for the LGBTQ newcomer community. Click here to learn more.

 
We are looking for volunteers to join our Volunteer-led Refugee Integration Project.
Are you a refugee? Would you like to get Basic Computer and English language skills? Then register for Centre's volunteer-led initiative - Computer Literacy Class or Conversation Club.

Help us support high-risk youth and develop an effective approach to gang prevention.
